Portable Backdrop Panels

"What Else Can You Do?"
Pastor T.D. Jakes famously asked this question when interviewing potential staff, “What else can you do?” He knew that for a mission to succeed, every team member... and every tool... needs to be versatile.
We built our backdrop panels with that exact philosophy in mind: creating a single system that functions across many roles to get the job done.
While most of our backdrops are featured on stage during Sunday mornings, as a former worship and arts director, I know that the church calendar is filled with much more. Our panels are designed to transition seamlessly between these various demands.
Take, for example, a church in Georgia that reached out to us. Their school was preparing to use the sanctuary for a graduation ceremony, and they needed a high-impact, quick-turnaround solution.
By collaborating on custom panel covers, we transformed their standard Sunday stage into a celebratory graduation set. The beauty of this system is the efficiency.
On Sundays, they use the plain panels; for special events, they simply snap on the custom covers. These covers are easily stored and ready to be used year after year.
This morning I received two pictures of what we created for them and I thought I would share this with you. On the side towers we had cutout covers made with the initials of the school for a Christmas event and then for graduation we collaborated on some younger kids in graduation caps and gowns.
In fact, they supplied the image of a couple of their kids standing in robes and hats holding hands. We traced the outline and came up with the panel covers for the center of their stage.
For Sundays they use the panels currently plain but for today they put up the covers for graduation. They will store them for the next year and the next.
This versatility provides incredible cost savings.
Instead of investing in entirely new sets for every event, you use the same foundational system and simply update the look.
Here are just a few ways you can maximize your backdrop system:
- Vacation Bible School (VBS)
- Youth Camps and special student events
- Weekend seminars, such as marriage retreats
- Concerts and community events
We are here to help you collaborate on ideas that make stage changes as simple as magnets or Velcro.
Give us a shout... we'd love to help you discover what else your stage can do.

Multi-campus ministry doesn’t mean compromising design.
It means multiplying impact.
Earlier this year, one of our church partners in Massachusetts reached out about updating all of their campuses for Easter. They had previously installed our “Glass Mosaic” design across every location and loved the unity it created.
This time? They wanted to move forward with “Eternal Gateway.”
Here’s what makes this so powerful:
Same church.
Four campuses.
Completely different room layouts.
🔹 Main Campus (13W x 4H in a staircase layout)
🔹 Foxboro (split staircase design)
🔹 Wilmington, Watertown, Courtyard (two 3-panel towers per stage)
Different sizes.
Different configurations.
Different spatial challenges.
One cohesive design vision.
Our team reworked the Eternal Gateway artwork to fit each specific layout — making sure every campus felt unified while still honoring the architecture and scale of each space.
When the proofs went out, their response?
“Wow! These look fantastic! Once again we’re absolutely loving what y’all are able to put together.”
That’s the goal.
Not cookie-cutter.
Not one-size-fits-all.
But one message… visually reinforced across every room.
Because when campuses share a visual language, it strengthens identity, creates familiarity for guests, and builds momentum across the entire church — no matter the square footage.
Same design.
Tailored layouts.
Unified impact.
That’s the power of portable design done right.

I used to think stage design problems had to be solved in the room—tape measures, mockups, and a whole lot of guesswork.
Then a FaceTime call with Catch the Fire Church in Effingham, IL proved otherwise. We walked through that awkward triangle corner behind the drums, talked vision, mapped out structure, accessories, lights, even gap covers… all from a screen.
Now I believe clarity + collaboration beat complexity every time. When a church can see how something comes together—and know it can grow with them—everything clicks.
Why this matters: your stage doesn’t need to be perfect to start. It just needs a plan that removes distractions now and supports your vision for the future.
And when a pastor sends a photo of his son preaching in front of a backdrop they love… that’s the win. 🙌
