Lantern Road Elementary PTO

What an incredible way to finish out the school year! On Monday, Lantern Road Elementary School and Lantern Road Elementary PTO had the honor of hosting internationally acclaimed authors Peter Reynolds and Paul Reynolds from The Reynolds Center for Teaching, Learning and Creativity.

Together, Peter and Paul Reynolds are bestselling authors, storytellers, educators, and co-founders of FableVision — an educational media company focused on inspiring creativity, curiosity, and learning in children around the world. Peter has authored and illustrated over 100 books, including "The Dot". Paul is a longtime educator and creative learning advocate who works with schools and students nationwide.

They inspired our students with powerful messages about creativity, courage, and believing in the power of their ideas. Paul reviewed students' artworks and had meaningful conversations about creating and what it means to make their mark.

Our students had the opportunity to work with Paul to create an ebook centered on our 'Life Rules' at LRE, giving them a chance to share their voices in a creative and meaningful way. The encouragement to be creative, take risks, share ideas, and “make your mark” is something our students will carry with them for years to come.

Thank you to Peter and Paul Reynolds for such an inspiring day, our Principals: Mr. Sponsel & Mrs. Thompson, current and former teachers and staff who helped make the day possible, and a special thank you to Mrs. Billman of Friends of the LRES Art Room for helping bring this unforgettable experience to our school community! 💛🐆
