What's the Message?
If you believe, as I do, that everything is ultimately happening for your benefit, then even seemingly insignificant events have importance.
This morning I burned a Reiki energy charged gratitude candle while I journaled, and as usual with these particular gratitude candles it wouldn’t burn without my active participation. (For some reason, the “walls” of the candle don’t melt while the center burns down, so the candle drowns in its own wax unless I do something to prevent it.)
If this insignificant and irksome event was happening for my benefit, what could it possibly mean? My first thought might be that these candles are somehow defective and to decide not to continue wasting my money by buying them. I could have also chosen to feel angry and frustrated that the candle didn’t burn as I expected it to.
But that all seems superficial and like I’m missing the real point of the event.
If I choose to feel curious instead, because I believe that there’s a beautiful and loving learning available for me here if I’ll simply decide to notice it, then I might arrive at this:
Consistent gratitude requests my active and conscious participation. It doesn’t simply happen. If I wish to experience gratitude on a regular basis, then I also elect to watch for it in my daily life. Without my focusing on gratitude and being consciously aware of it, I miss many of the subtler things for which I’m grateful.
So thank you, beautiful gratitude candle for that loving and gentle reminder to choose to pay attention to all that I’m grateful for!
I encourage you to also be curious about the events that catch your attention and to consider what beautiful and loving things they may be trying to tell you...from Connected, my e-newsletter, earlier in August ~ to read past newsletters or subscribe to them visit http://altmanlifecoaching.com/category/newsletter/
