Rieck's Frame Shop

6 years old on February 6, 2025. Is there such a thing as a golden birthday for a business, because it should be a thing! ✨ I opened my doors at Rieck’s Frame Shop six years ago today and I never could have imagined how lovely the experience would be.

I want to take a moment to thank my husband Dutch, who has been my knight in shining armor, helping me in every way possible, through thick and thin, to make this business a success and a joy. ♥️ I also want to thank my family and friends for their amazing support and encouragement over the last 6 years. My faithful customers, both old and new, have made this the most rewarding and amazing experience, and have brought me so much joy in trusting me to frame their treasures. 🤩 I’m forever grateful for each and every one of you! And last, but definitely not least, my thanks to the Weaver family for all the help with launching this business when they closed their doors downtown.

I am planning to keep going strong! When I started a business at 60, I wondered how long I would be able to carry on but I feel like I’m just hitting my stride and absolutely love designing and framing as much as I ever have. I’m so thankful for all of this and felt like taking a moment to celebrate all the things. 🎉🖼️🎨

I framed some pictures for our church house (renovations are basically completed after 6 years!) to celebrate. Michigan artist Kelly Ventura is one of my favorites and these are for my new kitchen/butler’s pantry (hence the black frames).
I look forward to sharing some customer’s projects in the coming days and weeks. So many beautiful projects and so many happy memories…♥️✨

I have a nice variety of Prisma acrylic photo frames available in the shop. They have seamless corners, acid-free backing inside, and UV filtering glass with easel back stands. I also carry the magnetic acrylic frames with clear or colored borders. These frames are a beautiful option for small photos. Sizes include
4”x6”, 5”x7”, and 8”x10” (largest size in magnetic is for 5”x7”). Each frame comes with a nice box and they make wonderful gifts for brides, parents-to-be, and graduates!

I recently finished a framing project of 13 gorgeous vintage art prints by French artist Louis Icart (1888-1950). My customers and their decorator and I had a marathon design appointment to carefully design each piece. We decided to have me attempt to add French lines to one of them even though I insisted that it made me very nervous since I have never done them before. I saved that piece for last, got some new supplies, and practiced a lot before finally taking a deep breath and going for it on the rag mat I was using for the piece. He wanted the lines in a very specific way, and since ink is used, I knew I had to get the corners perfect without the ink pooling or overlapping. Whew! I am so pleased with how this turned out, and I agree with him that the lines are a beautiful and simple addition to this elegant piece of art. Cheers! to trying new old things! 😍🖼

Thank you, Chris Makrancy, for bringing me these two amazing Ohio State treasures to frame. One is an antique Homecoming banner and the other is a vintage photo from the Ohio State vs. Michigan game in the snow in 1950 (along with a ticket to the game). I love helping preserve pieces like these and throughly enjoyed working on these.
