The spiritual warfare of which many talk about is not a formula or a technique that could be taught as a method. It is not a series of steps that we should learn. Many may use methods and strategies to wage a spiritual battle. However, the truth is that spiritual warfare begins at intercession. It is something that must be birthed in the depths of the heart after seeing people's suffering, and then being able to wage a fight, not against men, but against Satan and his army.

The battle begins at prayer, during deep intercession.

We know very well that our battle is not against men or institutions. Many times we Christians get confused and get trapped in debates. But who really sticks the spoke in the wheel of the Church to keep it from moving forward? Satan does. He, the devil, is behind men, laws or governments that seek to obstruct the preaching of the Gospel.

In each city, there is a principality; powers that oppose God's work over His children.

If you really want to have victory in your life you must wage battle against spirits of unbelief, the demons that try to stop God's blessing. When we understand, in our own flesh, the pain and need of those for who we cry out, pouring our soul into pieces, before the Lord, weeping as we see addicts torn apart by the devil, marriages being destroyed or children being abandoned, God moves His armies and the chains and the barriers set by the devil start to collapse. We have the authority to do it, we can overcome and take back what the devil has stolen.

We must understand this principle: We have the legal right to reclaim and take back what the devil is holding back. God gave us this right when He defeated him on the cross of Calvary. If we don't achieve victory in prayer and deep intercession over these principalities, the light of Christ will never shine. We will have limited blessings, but never the great blessing that God wants us to conquer. The only way to defeat the devil is humbling ourselves, weeping, asking, reclaiming and declaring: "Devil, release the souls you hold captive, release the drug addicts, release the sinners!", and with authority go and take them back in the name of Jesus.

Jesus Calling Writes
December 20

When I joined the ranks of humanity, born into the humblest conditions, My Glory was hidden from all but a few people. Occasionally, streaks of Glory shone out of Me, especially when I began to do miracles. Toward the end of My life, I was taunted and tempted to display more of My awesome Power than My Father’s plan permitted. I could have called down legions of angels to rescue Me at any point. Imagine the self-control required of a martyr who could free Himself at will! All of this was necessary to provide the relationship with Me that you now enjoy. Let your life become a praise song to Me by proclaiming My glorious Presence in the world.

This, the first of his miraculous signs, Jesus performed in Cana of Galilee. He thus revealed his glory, and his disciples put their faith in him.
—John 2:11

The people stood watching, and the rulers even sneered at him. They said, “He saved others; let him save himself if he is the Christ of God, the Chosen One.” The soldiers also came up and mocked him. They offered him wine vinegar
—Luke 23:35–36

It is good to praise the Lord and make music to your name, O Most High, to proclaim your love in the morning and your faithfulness at night, to the music of the ten-stringed lyre and the melody of the harp. For you make me glad by your deeds, O Lord; I sing for joy at the works of your hands. How great are your works, O Lord, how profound your thoughts!
—Psalm 92:1–5

Belief through His blood-

Many will ask the Christian who professes faith in God and in his Son Jesus, "How is it that you believe in God? What has he done that makes you so sure of him?
God sent his only Son, Jesus Christ, to live and to die for the sin of all mankind.
Jesus left his place by the Father and came willingly to do the will of God, to pay the price of redemption from sin for all people.
Jesus lived a simple life as the son of a carpenter as he readied himself for the journey he was to walk as he established the church in his name and trained his first disciples that would follow in his footsteps as they too professed the gospel of our Lord.
When the time came Jesus went to the cross to die a most horrible death that all people might then, through his shed blood, have a chance at salvation, to be released from the penalties of their own sinful lives.
"From the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land until the ninth hour. And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice saying, "Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?" That is, My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" (Matthew 27:45-46)
Jesus lived in this awful agony until he had completely bled out and only clear fluid ran from his wound.
"And Jesus cried out again in a loud voice and yielded up his spirit. And behold the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. And the earth shook, and the rocks were split." (Matthew 27:50-51)
With Jesus' death the curtain that separated the part of the holy place in the temple where people could go, from the inner sanctuary, the holy of holies, where only the high priest could go, was torn in two from top to bottom, forever opening the throne of God to all people. Anyone of whom can come, by prayer, before God at any time.
"Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water." (Hebrews 10:19-22)
"Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near." (Hebrews 10:23-25)
"Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God." (Hebrews 12:2)
THAT is how we Christians have faith, how we believe in God the Father, and God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Because our God came and died for us that we might then have eternal life through him who died but has risen and now lives forever in heaven.
