My 6 year old is obsessed with penguins, he had a lot of opinions about how his birthday cake should look.

Dot cake, but make it good 😅.. an impromptu birthday cake with leftover frosting from another cake. I'm convinced the source of the viral dot cake just needed to use up their red 40 inventory.

I'm trying to avoid sugar and gluten for a few weeks (which is hard because I'm a baker)...but I couldn't resist these scones. Light, flaky, buttery, and dotted with homegrown rhubarb chunks. Lightly sweetened with brown sugar and a vanilla glaze, these were perfect with my morning coffee and my homemade rhubarb jam.
I'll be making a batch for the Swan House Tea Room this weekend.
My new baking space has hit a few snags in development, but planning on opening up pick up orders this fall, stay tuned.
