💯💙 An important message from Sgt. Richardson, FPD Peer Liaison:

Team,
As we recognize Men’s Mental Health Month, I want to take a moment to acknowledge something that is often overlooked in our profession: mental health matters.

Many men are taught to be strong, resilient, and self-reliant. While those qualities are valuable, true strength also includes recognizing when you need support, speaking up when you’re struggling, and looking out for one another. In law enforcement, we face unique challenges that can impact our mental and emotional well-being. The cumulative effects of stress, trauma, long hours, and the demands of the job can take a toll on anyone.

This month serves as a reminder that seeking help is not a sign of weakness—it is a sign of courage. Whether you are managing stress, dealing with personal challenges, or simply feeling overwhelmed, know that you are not alone. Resources are available, and there are people who care.

Let’s continue building a culture where checking in on each other is normal, conversations about mental health are welcomed, and asking for help is encouraged. A simple question, a listening ear, or a supportive conversation can make a significant difference.

Take care of yourselves, your families, and your fellow officers. Your mental health is just as important as your physical health, and your well-being matters.

Stay safe, stay connected, and remember: strength is not carrying every burden alone—it is knowing when to lean on others.

Respectfully,
Sgt. Richardson,6884
Peer Liaison
