It's a double edged sword, while kids do go through fazes of liking and not liking things, it's important to teach them to be disciplined, but not make them hate something.

You won't always like or enjoy training, but it has to be done for the long term benefit.
When parents say they're little Timmy doesn't want to come anymore, and their 2yrs in.

I always tell them the same, don't give little Timmy the choice, they're 2 years in, kids go through fazes, they don't have a choice whether they goto school or not, and this is Karate School! Make them stick it out for a few more weeks.

Don't get me wrong, if they are screaming crying, and hate it for a whole month, then i concede that maybe Karate isn't for them then.

But I make sure that the kids that stay, understand that those kids who've quit will never get any better at it.
