J5 Electric

What else am I thrilled/excited/happy/stoked/over-the-moon to announce?
We're officially signatory with IBEW.
I grew up in a union electrician family, and from a very young age, I saw the support and benefits that the Brotherhood brings.
Grandpa CJ Kleppe (a WW2 marine, tough-as-nails Norweigian) worked at the Ports, ran crews, and had a hand in building Seattle. I learned recently that he was the VP of Local 46 in the 70s.
Uncle Neil Mahoney was a service electrician, worked on the Columbia Tower, and was incredibly passionate about teaching apprentices at JATC.
Both passed away years ago.
Over the past 2 years, I've cried for them both and wish I had their abundant advice and support.
I can't help but feel they've had a hand in aligning the stars and guided the chance encounters and opportunities that have gotten me to this point. I remind myself to be as tough, committed, giving, thick-skinned, and helpful as they were.
Literally the best of the best.
I'm grateful to support the next generation of electricians and give them the opportunity to represent IBEW as the best of the best.
P.S. no, our rates aren't going up, nor will we be harder to work with. yes, we have the ability to scale but will always prioritize project delivery over sales volume!
Let's gooooooo 🚀🚀🚀

Where did the name "J5 Electric" come from?
The original "J5" shown here - Fran *Jeanette*, Joan, Judy, Jeanette, and Clarence *John* Kleppe.
🧐 And look! Our founder Kristy Whitney making an in utero appearance at the J5 Ocean Shores HQ, circa 1979.
CJ and Fran sold J-5 Electric in the 80s to move to Tacoma, and the company is long gone. Kristy used the name and logo to get her gig rolling! ⚡️
