Trilith Institute
Ebony Blanding doesn't just tell stories, she builds worlds.
Through memory, family, womanhood, spirituality, and the layered realities of Black life, her work invites audiences into stories that feel intimate, imaginative, and deeply human.
Her debut feature film, A Mess of Memories brings a bold visual voice to a story about what we inherit, what we carry, and what it can take to begin again.
Developed through Trilith Institute’s Emerging Creative in Residence program, the film represents a powerful milestone: the first feature produced with Trilith Institute.
We’re proud to spotlight Ebony Blanding and the visionary work behind A Mess of Memories.

Meet our AMAZING summer interns! ☀️🎬
This summer, we’re excited to welcome Melissa, Nancy, Gabi, and Ayla to Trilith Institute.
Melissa is a Georgia College & State University graduate with a BBA in Marketing and a passion for film. She’s excited to combine her love for marketing and film while learning more about the town and creative community she fell in love with on her very first visit.
Nancy is a recent graduate of Clayton State University with a degree in Film Production. She’s eager to learn more about Trilith and put her skills to work in a studio environment.
Gabi first connected with Trilith Institute during Minimester, an experience that helped shape her development as a young filmmaker. Now, as a summer intern, she’s excited to help connect other students with similar transformative educational opportunities.
Ayla is a rising junior at SCAD Atlanta studying Film & Television with a minor in Dramatic Writing. With a heart for preproduction, story development, and production management, she’s excited to get an inside look at how Trilith Studios operates from the business side.
We’re so glad to have them with us this summer. Help us give them a warm welcome!
