stay alert out there...

📣 Floods follow fires! 🔥
Large-scale wildfires dramatically alter the terrain and ground conditions. Normally, vegetation absorbs rainfall, which reduces runoff. However, wildfires leave the ground charred, barren, and unable to absorb water, creating conditions ripe for flash flooding and debris/mudflow events.
⚠️⛈️ Summer monsoon season is moving in. If you live in, or are in any of the burn scar areas from the Gold Mountain Fire you are at risk of experiencing flooding in the event of a large rain event.
⚠️📱 Pay attention to weather alerts from the National Weather Service and have a plan in place!
⚠️🚗 Remember: Turn around, don't drown - and head to higher ground. 🏃
