Go Tigers!

This is why I love taking photos.

Tuesday night during the Farmington Tigers Section Championship Game, with the score tied 0-0, Benny Fenske launched a home run. As he rounded first base, he acknowledged a section packed with classmates, teammates, and some of his closest friends.

The reaction says it all.

The Tiger fans absolutely went crazy. In one split second, you can see the joy, pride, friendship, and excitement that make sports so special.

What makes this moment even more meaningful is where Benny is in life right now. Yesterday was his final day as a Farmington High School student. Tomorrow he'll walk across the stage and receive his diploma. Next week, he'll help lead the Tigers into the State Tournament.

I've been fortunate enough to watch Benny grow up over the years, including countless basketball games alongside my stepson Kale since middle school. Kale is actually in this photo celebrating with the crowd.

Looking at this picture, I don't just see a home run. I see years of friendships, teammates, classmates, and memories. I see a group of seniors celebrating one of the biggest moments of their lives alongside the classmates who have grown up with them and the younger Tiger kids who look up to them and hope to someday follow in their footsteps.

Soon they'll head off in different directions and begin the next chapter. That's what makes this photo so special. It's more than a home run—it's a moment they'll carry with them forever.

Maybe that's why this one brings a tear to my eye.

Good luck to Benny, his teammates, and all of the graduates as they move on to the next phase of life. Your Tiger family is proud of you.

And good luck to the Farmington Tigers as they begin their State Tournament journey next Tuesday.

Congratulations to the Farmington High School Baseball Tigers on punching their ticket to the MSHSL Class AAAA State Tournament with 9-2 and 5-0 victories! 🏆🧡🖤
