The heat wave is in full swing! 🔥🐶

What are we doing at Fetchers?
Keeping our pups safe is always our top priority! During this heat wave, our sprinklers are on, the pools are full, and we're shortening outdoor play rotations. Dogs spend more time enjoying our climate-controlled indoor play areas, where they can cool down, decompress and safely play with friends!

Heat Safety Tips For Your Dog:

🐾 Watch the pavement
Dog’s don't wear shoes! If the pavement is too hot for your hand, it's too hot for their paws. Stick to grassy areas whenever possible.

🦮 Adjust your exercise routine
Choose early morning or evening walks when it's cooler, and keep them shorter. Dogs can overheat much faster than we do, especially in high humidity.

💧 Stay hydrated
Always provide fresh, cool water throughout the day. Encourage regular drinks, but avoid letting your dog drink excessive large amounts all at once.

🧩 Bring the fun indoors
When it's too hot to be outside, indoor enrichment is a great alternative! Try a frozen Toppl, lick mat , puzzle toy, scavenger hunt, or a short training session to keep your dog mentally engaged and fulfilled.

⚠️ Know the signs of overheating
Heavy panting, excessive drooling, weakness, vomiting, bright red/pale gums, or collapse are all signs your dog needs immediate cooling and veterinary attention.
