HEI is proud to support this Clearwater River project alongside our watershed partners. This effort to stabilization the Clearwater River will reduce erosion, improve water quality, and reconnect critical fish habitat, helping protect this key resource for years to come.
A mile-long streambank stabilization on the Clearwater River is designed to restore fish passage and habitat, and improve water quality in a 35-mile-long upstream stretch drained and straightened in the 1950s. Link to June Snapshots newsletter article: https://buff.ly/YYmFDIv

HEI was proud to work alongside the City of Cokato and the Wright County Soil and water Conservation District on the SW Cokato Wetland Creation.
The project has provided many benefits including reduced erosion, sediment and nutrients downstream, reduced flood risk, improved water quality, and enhanced wildlife habitat.
