This just happened in Fairfax County two days ago. Luckily, the driver of this vehicle was wearing a seatbelt and miraculously survived without injury.

When you rent a truck from Uhaul, you have the option of purchasing insurance (for an added fee) for the truck in the event of a mishap such as this. While the insurance policy for your personal vehicle may extend to rental cars, it may or may not extend to a rental truck.

U-Haul notes that it wants to be reimbursed for damages immediately upon the return of the rented item. For this reason, it is wise to obtain some insurance coverage from the rental truck company offerings.

How much is Uhaul’s insurance? $14.00! I hope the driver of this vehicle splurged for the insurance!

Our pricing structure remains the same as it was prior to the onset of the pandemic:

1. Local Moves consist of an hourly rate with a flat fee for truck expenses which varies based upon the locations involved.

2. Long distance moves (moves totaling 2+ hours drive time) are priced out with one flat fee (no hourly rate).
