You ever hear people saying “no days off when you own a business”? I’m guilty of saying it. But I stopped. Here’s why:

I own a business and help run my family company. I get texts/emails/calls on weekends, holidays, early mornings, and late nights. I don’t get to just show up, do my job, go home. I have to go early, stay late, use days off to fix problems or run business errands.

It truly feels like there are no days (or even hours) off. And if you don’t MAKE days off, there will never be a day off. This is why I choose to take one day (one that affects my own business, not the family’s) a month to get my own personal things done. Life doesn’t stop just because you own a business.

I used to be so hard on myself about taking a day off. I would even occasionally get guilt tripped by clients (yes, this happened) to come in on a day I designated off because “I usually work on Thursdays”. But the truth is, I’m a human being, not a business. And it’s okay to take a day for yourself!

Just in today, I was able to get a massage and car wash, go to the gym, do some cleaning and shopping, sneak in some work errands (I tried not to😅), and finish the day off with some bible time with my girls.

So remember, it’s OKAY to take a day off; To disconnect from the world every once in a while. And this is not just for business owners, but for everyone. Everyone’s timeframes are different, but know your limits and be honest with yourself.

Also, remember to smile because tomorrow is FRIDAY! 💕😋
