Thrilled to announce that the City of Fall River has announced mini-grant recipients, empowering residents to lead neighborhood revitalization projects that strengthen communities and build civic pride.

Congratulations to the mini-grant winners!

🏡Bristol Black Collective - 3 Projects

Pages to Pathways: Growing a Thriving, Connected Community is an initiative aimed at enhancing public spaces in the Flint Neighborhood of Fall River. The project will bring new opportunities for literacy, physical wellness, and community engagement to Kathy Assad Park and Father Travassos Park through the installation of Story Walks (1) community reading boxes, (2) mile markers, and a (3) community garden.

🏡 Fall River WIC/Health First Health Center - 1 Project

Community Wellness Day Event for Family Wellness " Flint Family Wellness Day”, an initiative designed to support the health and well-being of families by offering a day of free, engaging activities focused on physical, mental, and emotional wellness. The event will feature fitness classes, stress management workshops, healthy cooking demonstrations, and mental health discussions, all aimed at equipping families with practical tools to improve their overall health.

🏡YEAH! Corps - 3 Projects

(1) Public art/Mural, (2) provide signage to a nonprofit, (3) create sandwich boards to enhance Pleasant St businesses. Enhancing Community Well-being and Promoting Local Culture in the Flint neighborhood

🏡Spectrum Empowerment Project, Inc. - 2 projects

(1) Clean up and (2) beautify a corner lot into a community seating and garden area with a community performance stage. The overall goal is to host community open air theater events, permit the area to be used as a community theater venue, and continue to offer local youth a place to learn and experience theater.

Through support from the Center for Public Innovation at Johns Hopkins University, Fall River is investing in resident-driven solutions that improve public spaces, enhance community connections, and create lasting impact.
