As it has been made clear, the water in the ocean has been a very dangerous place.
The waves have been much larger and the rip currents have been extremely strong. It is highly suggested that people do not go deep into the water or far out in the ocean. And it is also a smart decision to swim where there are lifeguards. You should never swim in water on your own and only under super vision.

Below are some tips on how to escape a rip current and to be more prepared if something is to unfortunately happen...

The beautiful weather has arrived. Now is the perfect time to enjoy the pool, sun, and even boats.

Provided are some safety tips to follow when out on the water on boats...

1. Be prepared with a boat safety kit and essentials that are needed.
2. Life jackets must be worn and provided. Especially for children!
3. Check the weather and avoid going out in rough waters.
4. Do not overload the boat with people or equipment.
5. Get your boat checked on occasion and be aware of when something is not right.
6. Use common sense on the water.
7. Avoiding drinking and driving.
8. Follow proper docking and anchoring procedures.
9. Participate in a boat safety course often.
