Hello everyone! Let me update you on the status of the scrap metal industry. Prices are falling hard and fast. Trust me when I tell you that we hate this as much as you do. However, there are at least five steel mills who have went through intentional or accidental shutdowns in the last month or so. These mills have an excessive inventory of scrap. In addition, there are worldwide economic factors involved, not the least of which are problems in China and Brazil. Lastly, orders of new steel are down. With all of the issues colliding, the mills simply don't need as much scrap right now, Since they don't need the material, they aren't going to pay high prices for it. We will be here throughout this storm, still providing you with good service, and the best prices we can offer. Please call with any questions you may have!
