12 15 2025 CHISLEU KISLEV DECEMBER 12/16/2025

Then Judas and his brothers and all the assembly of Israel determined that every year at that season the days of dedication of the altar should be observed with joy and gladness for eight days, beginning with the twenty-fifth day of the month of Chislev.

The Maccabean Revolt of 167-160 BCE was a Jewish uprising in Judea against the repression of the Seleucid Empire. The revolt was led by a country priest called Mattathias, and his military followers became known as the Maccabees.

Jerusalem was successfully captured, and the Temple of Jerusalem (Yerushalaim)* was reconsecrated, an act still commemorated today in the Jewish Hanukkah festival. *STRONG'S HEBREW 3389

The eight days the lamps burned during the revolt refers to the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah (Festival of Lights), which commemorates the Maccabean Revolt, where a tiny flask of oil, enough for one day, miraculously burned for eight days, allowing time to find more consecrated oil for the Temple's Menorah, symbolizing perseverance and divine light in darkness.

THESE EVENTS SET UP THE MANIFESTATION OF MATTATHIAS (LEVITE PRIEST) TO JOHN HYRCANUS I (FIRST KING AND HIGH PRIEST) TO THE MARRIAGE BETWEEN MARIANNE (MATTATHIAS LEVITICAL LINEAGE) AND HEROD THE GREAT (SON OF ANTIPATER):

King Herod the Great sought the infant Jesus (YAHSHUA OF NAZARETH) out of fear that the newborn "King of the Jews" would usurp his throne.
According to Mark 6:14-29, John the Baptist was beheaded by the order of Herod Antipas (A DESCENDANT OF HEROD THE GREAT)

The Revolt:
In the 2nd century BCE, the Maccabees led a revolt against the Syrian-Greeks who had desecrated the Second Temple in Jerusalem.

The Miracle:
After reclaiming the Temple, they found only a small, sealed cruse of pure olive oil, sufficient for just one day.

The Miracle of Oil:
Miraculously, this oil burned for eight days, the time needed to prepare new, pure oil for the Temple.

Celebration:
To remember this event, Jews light a menorah (a nine-branched candelabrum with a shamash, or helper, candle) for eight nights, adding one candle each night.

Significance (Traditions of Men):
Festival of Lights: It's a celebration of faith, dedication, and the triumph of light over darkness, with traditions like eating fried foods (latkes/sufganiyot) and playing dreidel.

Matthew 15:1 Then came to Yahshua scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying,

Matthew 15:2 Why do Thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? For they wash not their hands when they eat bread.

Matthew 15:3 But He answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of Yahweh by your tradition?
