Last week I had the opportunity to visit Coast Guard Base Petaluma to help present the CG Fitness Award to two outstanding awardees - one from Active Duty and one from the Reserve class.

It was also my first time experiencing how the Coast Guard conducts their Chief Academy graduation. As a Navy Reserve Senior Chief, I’m always interested in seeing how other services recognize and develop their leaders, and it was a great reminder that while each branch may do things a little differently, the commitment to excellence and leadership remains the same across the board.

Congratulations to both awardees and to all those who reached this milestone - well deserved!
