Seeking Book Review Editor
We are seeking a book review editor to join the editorial board of Theory in Action. The journal, in its 18th year, is nonsectarian radical Left/progressive, interdisciplinary, peer reviewed, annual edition (January) available in print and online. The editor will be responsible for a minimum of 7 to a maximum of 10 reviews per annual edition.
Job Description
The book review editor works independently and reports to the editor-in-chief, selects books for review and requests review copies from publishers when needed, solicits reviewers and works with them on their manuscripts, handles all communications, and submits final publication ready e-manuscripts to the editor-in-chief. This is an uncompensated position.
Requirements
Tenured or tenure-track professor in either sociology (no criminal justice), history, or political science at an accredited institution of higher learning including community colleges. Must have a solid command of the English language. No editorial experience required. Must work independently, meet deadlines, be well organized, efficient, and professional.
