Last week of miracle league baseball

I still remember that first Miracle League game where he was scared to step on the field. How he held onto his dad and pleaded for us to not make him go out there.

Now you can't get him off of the field. He's learning how to take stats in the dugout. He got his sweatshirt today and I don't think he could be any happier.

I typically dread getting calls from school about Alvin. After being bullied twice in middle school there's always the concern of what happened and is he OK.

Almost a year into high school and all I'm hearing in phone calls and IEP meetings are good things.

Yesterday's game was rained out and it has now been rescheduled for tomorrow. I just got a call from one of his teachers. She took it upon herself to introduce him to the captain of the baseball team today. He is also one of the main starting pitchers and a senior. She said they talked for a bit and Alvin's conversation with him was amazing. He asked more about his job with the team and was told the team is excited to have him. He doesn't know it yet but they have even gone as far as to get him a baseball sweatshirt to wear it tomorrow's game so that he can be official.
