Tiptops

Yesterday, I was honored to be elected the 124th King of Georgefest. I have to say it's a very humbling experience to be recognized by your community and peers. I appreciate all of the well-wishes and congratulations I have received.

I came to Eustis in 1971 as a ninth grader, and I never left. I am a Panther for life. I raised my kids here, and they are raising their kids here. Our parents are still close by, as are many of our siblings. Eustis is our home.

Marilyn and I started our business, “Tip Tops,” here in 1982, and we have been plugged in ever since. The relationships we have established along the way are lifelong and precious to us.

We are a family of faith, and we couldn’t make it without our belief in Jesus and our church family at Trinity. I have so many blessings that have come from the relationships that started at Trinity church. Jesus is the only real King, and I am nothing without Him.

The King of Eustis election is just the latest confirmation of the ongoing support our family has received from the Eustis community for over 50 years.

Even with all the changes to the area, Eustis is still a great community to raise your family.

I want to thank the city and the chamber for all the effort they put into making Georgefest the great event it has become. I want to thank all of you who have supported our family and me along the way.

For me, Georgefest reminds me of a wonderful era in Eustis that helped shape who I am, and it reminds me that the next generation is here and ready to take Eustis into the future.

Thanks again! Everyone, please come and enjoy all that Georgefest has to offer. I plan to be out and about as much as I can, so if you see me, please come over and say hi.
