Extreme summer heat is more than uncomfortable. It can pose serious health risks for people of all ages and health conditions.
A few simple habits can make a big difference on very hot days:
๐ธ Stay indoors during the hottest hours of the day when possible.
๐ธ Drink water regularly, even if you donโt feel thirsty.
๐ธ Wear lightweight, light-colored, loose-fitting clothing when outside.
๐ธ Use fans or air conditioning, or visit a cooling center or public place with air conditioning if your home is too warm.
๐ธ Watch for signs of heat exhaustion, such as dizziness, headache, confusion, or nausea, and reach out to medical professionals if necessary.
These steps can help prevent heat-related illness and keep you and the people you care about safer all summer long. If you have questions about how heat might affect your health or medications, talk with your doctor or health care team.
As always, know that I am here for you if you would like to review your coverage.
