Bound By Stitches

When looking through my pictures, I realized that I had not posted this finished quilt we received to Longarm. So, here is a small baby quilt that we found the perfect edge to edge design, to go with the quilt blocks. Thank you Zodi, for being a return customer and giving me the opportunity to quilt this fun, beautiful quilt.

One of our friends, gave us her heirloom quilt to restore for her. It’s special to her because it has her dad’s jeans in it. Because the backing was in such bad shape, we discussed replacing it with something new. After tearing it apart to replace the backing, we found a surprise under the old backing. Another hand stitched quilt top. My friend didn’t even know it was there. As you can see if this photo, some of the fabric has totally disintegrated. Because the fabric is so fragile and is dusty from the old batting, it is really hard to work with. We have done a lot of sneezing for sure. LOL. We are afraid to even try to wash it and a Dry Cleaner does not want the responsibility of possibly ruining it. So, this restoration process has been taking a very long time. We are hoping to get a few nice blocks out of the old quilt too and put back to gather to make a wall hanging. I will post more pictures after we get the original quilt done, and hopefully have a nice wall hanging too.

Here is a really big custom quilting job that took over 80 hours to complete. Boy did my back pay for this one. Was glad to be done with it.
