We're thrilled to share the success of our Logan Heights CDC EDforTech Future Innovator STEAM Camp in collaboration with CoderZ, made possible by the San Diego Foundation! Campers received Certificates of Award in Engineering Design and Computer Science from UC San Diego Extension in addition to pre-college credits, marking the beginning of their journey as the next generation of engineers and scientists!

It's easy to look at some of our most recent scientific innovatons and see their roots in science fiction and popular culture. Creating and designing the future is reason 539,852,781 why matters and is important for all!
“Beyond creating a climate where innovative thinking is acceptable,” said Chris McKitterick, who directs the Ad Astra Center for Science Fiction and the Speculative Imagination at the University of Kansas, “science fiction has influenced countless scientists, engineers and technologists to make real the things depicted in science fiction narratives.”
An unofficial list of the most influential science fiction works ever Space moguls and NASA scientists alike have credited science fiction for helping inspire space exploration. These works stand out the most.
It's good to see the federal government praise the importance of and access to equitable educational experiences including access to STEM.
