We recently replaced a set of old, rotting and extremly slippery railroad tie stairs for a return customer. We elected to go with basalt slabs for the treads. The natural basalt blends into the landscapes perfectly, instead of sticking out loudly like a set of concrete stairs would have. This method also allowed for very liitle disturbance on the surronding landscape. Only one issue... they each weigh 900 lbs each! Gonna need a crane!
