Bookbinder and book restorer, Edward Kranz, will be discussing the papyrus scroll and its place in history as well as demonstrating how to make a modern sympathetic Egyptian papyrus scroll.

Following instructions from The Preservation Lab, I made a Collapsible Book Cradle created by Elizabeth Rideout at the Northeast Document Conservation Center in Andover, MA.

Skills required are basic case-making processes.

I improvised on some materials, but I feel it is an honorable piece that will be used in the bindery. Relativly affordable to make, considering what buying a conservation quality book cradle can run.

This Collapsible Book Cradle is adjustable to accommodate thin or thicker spines.
