Bangkok’s past (17th century) was a bustling trading hub, with the Chao Phraya River and canals connecting every corner of the city for commerce and transport. Today, most canals have given way to roads, and this thriving metropolis relies on trains, buses, and cars. Yet, the ferry system lives on, offering a nod to the city’s vibrant history. Fun Fact: The Thai people turn everyday accessories into displays of their playful personality—from cute keychains to adorable fluffy stuffed animals. We saw this on the trains, ferries and even on the streets.
