We're honored to be featured in the latest issue of ROOTS, the journal of Botanic Gardens Conservation International (BGCI)! đŸŒŋ

The article highlights how San Diego Botanic Garden's Native American, Mexican, and Medicinal Gardens were created through meaningful partnerships with local communities to celebrate cultural heritage, foster belonging, and deepen connections between people and plants.

This collaborative publication was coauthored by Garden staff and volunteers, alongside partners from Jamul Indian Village of California (A Kumeyaay Nation), the Pala Band of Mission Indians, the Viejas Band of Kumeyaay Indians, the Kumeyaay Science Program at Cuyamaca Community College, and Flower Hill Institute.
