My secret?

I always show up for myself.

Instagram removed my last post and flagged it for s*xual activity. The picture was a beautiful couple, naked in the water, wrapped in a deeply loving embrace. With the caption I have below. I’m sad they removed it. So I will repost and try again.

In healthy conflict resolution, the question is never “how am I wrong” or “ how are you wrong.” The question is always, “what is real for the both of us and what can we do about it together.”

Happy 4th of July ✨ Today, I would like to introduce you to an idea, to a pledge, to a movement that my friend Jesse Karras, myself, and a group of other incredible people created. It’s called “Common Respect” this pledge/movement was created to remind you that Positive Change Starts with You. One of the most important ways for us to grow individually, as a country, and to heal this political divide is to learn how to actually listen to each other. To seek understanding in ways that we intend to be understood. It is all too common for people to understand each other in ways that do not reflect the best and most fair interpretation of their intended meaning. Political change is a top concern for our country. Americans want to see change for the better. Common respect created the pledge to encourage respectful communication to help accomplish that goal. Why is respectful and effective communication so important?

It is a life skill that enables us to better understand and connect with the people around us. It allows us to build respect and trust, as well as to resolve differences and foster environments where problem solving, caring, affection, and creative ideas can thrive. Lack of effective communication inadvertently leads to conflict and frustration in both our professional and personal relationships. Adequate knowledge of communication skills significantly improves our ability to exchange thoughts and ideas with others. I believe that this is fundamental to creating a better world where everyone can pursue their creative potential for happiness.
