At Sugar Sweet Farm Camp, kids ages 6–12 don’t just learn about animals—they build relationships with them. Every day is filled with animal encounters, farm adventures, outdoor play, and unforgettable moments that help children grow in confidence, compassion, and curiosity.

Some moments remind us that growing up doesn’t mean losing your sense of wonder. 

Our Counselors-in-Training gathered around a nest of 10-day-old baby bunnies this week, completely captivated by these tiny lives that haven’t even opened their eyes yet. For a moment, the future leaders in our program became little kids again—full of curiosity, gentleness, and awe.
That’s the magic of our CIT Leadership Program. Teens ages 13–16 develop leadership skills, confidence, responsibility, animal handling experience, and mentorship abilities while staying connected to the simple joys of nature and farm life.

If you have a teen who loves animals and is ready for a summer filled with purpose, growth, and unforgettable experiences, we’d love to meet them.

Moments like this are why we love Farm Camp.
For many children, animals are more than just animals—they’re dreams coming to life. Watching Tatum meet Kobe, one of our wise old horses, was pure magic. The wonder, the excitement, the connection... it’s something that can’t be taught from a screen or a textbook.
At Sugar Sweet Farm’s Summer Farm Camp in Encinitas, children ages 6–12 spend their days connecting with horses, donkeys, goats, llamas, rabbits, chickens, ducks, and other farm animals while exploring nature and agriculture in a small-group setting.
These are the moments our campers carry with them long after summer ends.
