Bumped into Craig Bell at the YSS mandir meditation this morning after an all night bus ride to Rishikesh. he suggested we visit a cave that is detachment reputed to be the meditation cave of Lord Jesus Christ, 2000 years ago.. I didn’t realize it was going to develop into the interesting story that I tell in the video. Akshay and I were very happy that we motorbiked 18 miles or so out of Rishikesh to visit it. Paramahansa Yogananda indicated that Judas Iscariot attained liberation as a disciple of Paramahansa Ramakrishna. And I am presuming this cave was used by the same disciple. It opened up after about an hour of being there and we were able to meditate inside. When you meditate about 50 yards deep into a cave. It’s so quiet that all you can hear is the sounds that come from within and your body. The priest is naturally generous and just lets you stay as long as you like. Rishikesh used to be a small town dominated by Ashrams and temples. But with such a glorious river? There are about 400 four-wheel-drive vehicles that carry a huge dinghy for white water rafting not to mention, bungee, jumping and parasailing, it has become a tourist Mecca with very wholesome outdoor activities, which was something I didn’t anticipate.
