Jim Carrey once said,
“Imagine for just a minute that you are financially struggling and in the unfortunate situation of being homeless and suddenly someone comes with a camera, to film your face and your precarious situation, to give you a meal so they can record it and you have to take it, because you are hungry… Imagine that feeling. Please stop doing that. If you are going to help someone, do it with kindness and not with your ego.”

Feeling rather emotional as my time in Encinitas is coming to a close for 2020.

I'm trading in my beach strolls, sun hangs and bikinis for ski runs, freezing temps and expensive ski boots that are clunky and hard to walk in.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Am I happy about this? Not really, but life changes and part of growth for me is stepping into uncomfortable situations. It also has to do with reprogramming past traumatizing scenarios around skiing and stepping into a new space where my bf (who is a ski instructor) can actually kindly show me the way.

It'll be a trial to spend a winter in the mountains. I will try hard to embrace and be positive about it. And I also know I have choices. :)

If I want to come back to California, I can at anytime. Always grateful for choice.

As the days get shorter and the temperature starts to plummet, make sure to enjoy spending as much time as you can out in nature. Filling your lungs, your heart and soul with all the beauty that this warmth is providing.

I loved Shasta so much that I actually went twice in one month. I hadn't planned on going back, but there was a full moon, an epic drum circle and some of the best water gifted directly from this mountain.

Grateful for my travels, my freedom, my love and all that I've been gifted with in this life. I know that happiness is not only a choice, but a practice, which is why I wrote a book on the topic.
