I am a Southern California native who is passionate about my work.
Upon completing my post doctoral training in periodontics, I moved to Encinitas and have been taking care of patients in this area for the past 40 years. I am the founder of Encinitas Perio and am proud to still be part of this great team.

As my days in the office decrease, I am so happy to have such a skilled clinician as Dr. Chris Traxler to take over. We have worked happily together for 7 years and he has been my boss for the past 5 years. His leadership and our love for our patients assures our clients that they will always receive the level of care they expect.

During the past year, you may have been lucky enough to meet our latest clinician, Dr. Nick Wright. His presence in our practice is no accident. A highly respected colleague, told me Nick is the best perio resident she has trained, he is from North County, he’s a great guy, you have to hire him. She was so right, Nick has been a great asset to our team. I am confident my patients are well cared for when I am away from the office.

Patients who have known me for decades often ask me when I plan to retire. By practicing fewer days a month, I am so blessed to have more time to spend with my wife, Kathy, and both of my kids and my grandkids, who all live nearby. I have ample activities pulling me away from dentistry: surfing, skiing, foil boarding, mountain biking, diving, even golfing. Perhaps you have danced to Novocaine—the all dental band where I play the bass. I continue practicing because I love my patients, I love what I do, and I love our team. Every day I get to meet interesting new people. How can I retire and walk away from so many friends? I’m blessed to be living my best life.
