I did not make this shirt, just found the picture online and could. not. find credit to its maker.
Here’s how I’m guessing they made it:
- start with 5 coordinating floss colors And a dense needle
- separate 3 strands and cut all colors to the same length
- start at the top of the button up edge and use a short satin stitch to wrap the edge
—- make sure the stitches are close together and that they fully go around the hem. It should feel like your needle is going down a twisty slide.
- tie off your color with a knot very close to the fabric
- begin the next color with a slight overlap of the color
- work your way down the hem to your heart’s content

I meant I’m obviously not mom, but I drew the pattern and she stitched this baby to perfection. Custom embroidery kits are my absolute favorite thing to make!

I wanted to do a valentines gift for my husband without it being all red and pink hearts.
So here’s our initials “carved” into a tree!
