Time for me to say a lil sumthin sumthin about yours truly, ME. ☺️ We have a lot of new people who’ve found us and it makes sense to give you a feel for who I AM. I’m Christine and Salvaged Beauty Rugs is my creation, but I could not have pulled this off without my incredible husband Joel, and our extra special daughter Gigi, the light of our little family. I am a former professional Interior Designer. Creating beautiful interiors is a joy for me, and an artistic expression. I absolutely fell in love with vintage rugs several short years ago by quickly learning the massive impact they had in my own home. I began collecting and the rest is *herstory*. A bit more than a year ago my little family and I opened up our brick and mortar vintage rug store Salvaged Beauty Rugs in beautiful downtown Elmhurst Illinois, right outside of my beloved big city of Chicago. How great for local people to be able to be able to touch and see these incredible handknotted one of a kind storied pieces in person. When we began, to wash away the fear of taking a chance on opening a business, my mantra to myself was “What if it all works out?” Well after more than 600 rugs have gone out our doors to their perfect homes, it has worked out ✨ We could not be more grateful for the support, enthusiasm, and affirmation of so many incredible customers, both walking through our doors in person or online. Now we are taking the next big steps in our small business by increasing our website’s inventory to reflect the inventory we carry in our brick and mortar store. Our customers who we see face-to-face are equally as valued as our customers who live across the USA. One of the biggest take-aways for me is, it’s never too late to take a chance and follow a dream, to follow a passion, to lean into hard work, and a whole lotta joy. 🥹 Thanks for being here with me, and Joel, and Gigi.
