Had a great night at Jiu Jitsu tonight. My wrestlers went from a singlet to a gi tonight. So happy to show them my new home team at Solid Ground Jiu Jitsu.

This was our 2018 “5 Year Shirt”. We’ve added plenty more titles since then. Reflecting back has been an eye opener for me. If I could do it all again type stuff.
Confidence - we had a ton of confident kids come get humbled at our club. Only to have that confidence restored through hard work and finding success. Competence - we’ve had a ton of great kids come get out worked. Ultimately finding success through hard work and building on their skills. Put the 2 C’s together along with hard work and you can build Champions.

Not every kid (or parent) wants to compete. Competitions win or lose builds confidence, finds holes that need to be strengthened. It helped all my gym kids learn the value of preparation and hard work. Even if they didn’t compete they trained with the ones that did.

When our gym first started we didn’t have a ton of teammates. The ones we had though, pushed us hard and we all were pretty successful. A semi-pro hockey player, 2 college students (one a wrestling State Qualifier, the other an Evans Scholar) and a High School Senior (2-time wrestling All-Conference) in this pic.
