We are proud to announce the promotion of Explorer Sergeant Layla Hoskins to the rank of Lieutenant, and Explorer member Giselle Lucas to the rank of Sergeant.

We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to host a one-day Police Explorer Competition right here in Elmhurst. It was an honor to welcome Explorer teams from Addison, Villa Park, Grundy County, Joliet, Elgin, and Sandwich. Each team brought a high level of professionalism and competitive spirit that truly elevated the event.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to our neighboring police advisors who generously volunteered their time to serve as judges. We are also deeply appreciative of our Citizen Police Academy members and police explorers who stepped up to role-play during the scenarios, your efforts brought the scenarios to life and added value to the learning experience.

A special thank you to Sgt. Jarrette for conducting an incredible drone presentation, it was both informative and engaging, and our explorers walked away with a new appreciation for the technology and its role in modern policing.

Thanks to everyone’s collaboration and commitment, the event was a complete success. We look forward to future opportunities to train, compete, and grow together.
