Jake Meding for Elmhurst Alderman

Whenever I see one of my supporters, he always asks "Do you have a hole in your shoes yet?"

After two months of walking almost every day, I can honestly say I have passed out close to 5,000 walk cards, knocked on every door in the 2nd Ward and I finally have holes in my shoes from this experience.

It is less than one week until election day. At the start of this election, one of my goals was to knock on every door in the 2nd Ward. I have completed this goal and have knocked on most doors twice and even three times in some cases.

These past few weeks have taught me a lot about the citizens of the 2nd Ward, the Ward itself, and the town of Elmhurst. With each person I talk to, I stress how I will have the energy and dedication to represent them on the Elmhurst City Council.

I could not have done this without the support of my family and volunteers, especially my wife Annice and mother Marge, who have both been with me most days walking. With only six days until Election Day, my campaign is in the home stretch, and now more than ever, I need your support.

On February 26th, I had the opportunity to participate in the Elmhurst League of Women Voters Spring 2023 Candidate Forum. It was a public forum that allowed me to express my platform and what I wanted to accomplish if elected as the 2nd Ward Alderman. At the forum, I discussed my views on public safety, the City's stormwater management project, and how strategic economic development will be key for Elmhurst's future.
