CROP Hunger Walk

For most of her life, Joyce has lived in Uganda’s Nakivale Refugee Settlement. For years, she and her neighbors walked for hours each day to collect water, often from unsafe sources.

Today, that reality has changed. Through a CWS emergency water, sanitation and hygiene program, 126 households in her community now have access to safe water. 💧

For Joyce, a mother and community health worker, this means more than convenience. It means:
✔️ Safer drinking water
✔️ Healthier children
✔️ Time regained for family and community care

But the work isn’t finished. The nearest permanent tap is still a kilometer away, and sustainable water access is the next critical step. Together, we can help communities like Joyce’s move from short-term relief to lasting change.
