The Elk Grove City Council recently approved a two-year contract with Turton Commercial Real Estate to market 20 acres of city-owned property on the southeast corner of Big Horn and Elk Grove Boulevards referred to as Project Elevate. The property is located across the street from District56, Elk Grove’s 36-acre recreational facility that includes an aquatic center, community center, and The Preserve, a 30 acre nature area scheduled to open this fall.
The objective of the Project is to "elevate" the level of design, commercial and residential product types, and public and private spaces and amenities in the City through the development of a urban mixed-use project that includes retail, dining, entertainment, office, and residential uses, as well as a hotel. Turton will serve as a consultant for city officials in negotiations for site acquisition and development. Project Elevate could take five years to develop at once or up to 15 years to develop in phases.
