Five Pines Carpentry

Just wrapped up this simple but elegant wainscoting project. Tying the new trim into the existing skirt boards was a challenge but it looks like it was original. Painting my own work was a fun experience and helped me slow down more during the carpentry. Overall a nice little job!

Really happy with this one! Adding a daybed to this space was an interesting project. Mixing in casework built in the shop with an on site wainscot surround made for a fun install. Inset fronts and dovetail drawers pull it together and blend the unit with the rest of the house. Can’t wait to see it furnished with a mattress and pulls.

Happy with how this bookcase turned out! From a render to reality this one went smoothly. The bead board back was a unique touch but it really makes it blend in with the rest of the house. Added a picture of the Lamello Zeta since it makes offsite assembly a breeze, as well as the little SquiJig square since it’s just nice to use. On to the next one.

Had an interesting one this week. Was tasked with skinning the tops of these beautiful arched doorways on what used to be a fire station. Decided on kerfed MDO plywood for the main surface with a built in place mahogany lamination for the edge band. It was fun to balance the door stop reveals with the shape of the arch substrate. Can’t wait to see how they look after paint! Last picture shows the before condition.

Here is a custom nightstand set from 2024.
Solid walnut waterfall case with Australian Eucalyptus drawers.
The same approach I try and bring to built-ins and finish work, just scaled down a bit.
Lately I have been focusing more on interior carpentry, but I’m always open to the right custom projects!
