Elbert County Comprehensive High School Earns National Beta School of Merit Recognition
ELBERTON, Ga. — Elbert County School District is proud to announce that Elbert County Comprehensive High School (ECCHS) has been recognized as a 2025–2026 National Beta School of Merit, a prestigious honor that reflects the school's unwavering commitment to academic excellence and student leadership.

The National Beta School of Merit designation is awarded to schools that demonstrate a strong commitment to the National Beta mission by offering membership opportunities to students across all eligible grade levels. This distinction recognizes schools that foster scholarship, leadership, service, and character while ensuring broad student participation in the Beta Club. During the 2025–2026 school year, only 6,103 Beta clubs nationwide received this distinguished recognition.

In a letter recognizing the achievement, National Beta Chief Executive Officer Bobby Hart commended the school's efforts, stating, "Thank you for your continued support of National Beta and commitment to developing future leaders!"

ECCHS Principal Buddy Winborne praised the dedication and leadership of Beta Club Sponsor Marie Roach for making the achievement possible.

"Congratulations to Mrs. Marie Roach on this well-deserved recognition. Her dedication to providing opportunities for students from every grade level while consistently promoting academic excellence has strengthened our Beta program and created an inclusive culture where students are encouraged to lead, serve, and achieve. We are incredibly grateful for her commitment to our students and proud of the positive impact she continues to make at Elbert County Comprehensive High School."

The National Beta School of Merit recognition highlights ECCHS's continued focus on cultivating student success through meaningful academic opportunities, leadership development, and a culture of excellence. The school remains committed to preparing students to excel both inside and outside the classroom while fostering the values that define National Beta.
