"'The chief end of education is not merely the imparting of information, but the formation of a soul rightly ordered to love.' —David Hicks, Norms and Nobility

Mom and dad, you are the first and most powerful teacher your child will ever have. Long before we see them in a classroom, you are already shaping what they love, what they value, and who they're becoming. Keep going—the little moments of formation at your kitchen table matter more than you know.

We're honored to partner with you in this work.

We don't take lightly what parents trust us with.

We received this note from a Telos mom and we have read it more than once. It is the kind of letter that reminds every teacher, every staff member, and every person who pours into this community why we show up every single day.

"Dear Telos family, you don't know how blessed I feel by all that Telos has done for us. God did amazing things through all of you and gave me my daughter back. I continue to see His hand over our life and the lasting impact that you all have made in it. I will continue to partner with you any chance I can because I want so many others to experience what you and your family do for so many. I love you all so dearly and I thank God for you every day." —Telos Parent

This is not a school that simply teaches subjects. It is a place where God moves, families are restored, and students are seen—truly seen—for who they are and who they are becoming.

If you have been wondering whether Telos is the right place for your child, let this be the answer you needed.

We are still enrolling for both our 1-Day and 3-Day programs this August.

"You cannot be profoundly influenced by that which you do not know."
— R.C. Sproul

Read that again.

The ideas, the stories, the people, the Scripture your child is exposed to right now are quietly shaping who they are becoming. Not someday. Now.

This is one of the most important and underestimated truths in education. Formation doesn't happen in a vacuum. It happens through encounter—through what a child reads, hears, wrestles with, and is asked to think about deeply.

So what can parents do with this today?

Fill your home with great books. Not just popular ones—old ones. The ones that have stood the test of time because they say something true about being human.

Eat dinner and talk about ideas. Ask your kids what they think, not just what they did. Teach them that their opinion requires a reason.

Let them sit with hard questions. Resist the urge to give them the answer immediately. A child who learns to think through difficulty is far more formed than one who is simply handed conclusions.

Introduce them to people worth admiring. History is full of men and women of extraordinary virtue and courage. Make those names familiar at your dinner table.

Read alongside them. When a parent picks up the same book, it sends a message no curriculum can: this matters enough for me to know it too.

The goal was never just an educated child. It was a formed one.

Community isn't something you find everywhere. But at Telos, it's kind of the whole thing.

Meet Krew.

Ask him what he loves most about Telos Academy and he'll tell you—it's the people. The teachers who know your name and actually show up for you. The students who feel more like family than classmates. A place where everyone around you is genuinely rooting for you to grow.

That's not something you stumble into. That's something that gets built intentionally, every single day.

We're so grateful for students like Krew who remind us why we do this.

Still enrolling for both our 1-Day and 3-Day programs. Whether you're looking for a full academic experience or the perfect complement to your homeschool, there's a place for your family here.

Independence and the Pursuit of Telos

On this Independence Day, we remember that the founders did not simply declare freedom from something—they declared freedom for something. "Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness" was not a call to license, but to eudaimonia: the flourishing life, ordered toward the good, the true, and the beautiful.

This is the heart of classical education. The ancients taught that liberty without virtue collapses into chaos, and that a free people must be a formed people—educated not merely in facts, but in wisdom, courage, justice, and self-governance. The signers of the Declaration were themselves products of a classical education, steeped in Cicero, Plutarch, and the natural law tradition that taught them all people are "created equal" and "endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights."

At Telos, we believe education has a telos ( an end, a purpose) and that purpose is to form souls capable of sustaining the very liberty this nation was founded to secure. Freedom is not self-perpetuating. It must be renewed in every generation, one student, one virtue, one truth at a time.

Happy Independence Day. May we prove worthy heirs of the founders' hope—a free people, wisely and virtuously self-governed.

What if learning felt genuinely beautiful?

Meet Savannah—and she said it better than we ever could.

At Telos Academy, what we learn isn't just useful—it's meaningful. From great literature to history to the deep questions of life, our students don't just collect information. They discover something worth knowing. And that changes the way they see the world.

That's the beauty of a Telos education.

We are still enrolling for both our 1-Day and 3-Day programs — spots are limited, so now is the time.

TEFA funds can be used at Telos Academy! If you have an Education Savings Account through Texas, you may already have the funds to get started.

You're Invited:

Starting this Thursday (July 2) at 6:30 PM at the Kolesar home, we’re doing a 4-week book study on The Consolation of Philosophy by Boethius.

Boethius wrote it around 524 AD while in prison awaiting execution—it’s part memoir, part philosophy, wrestling with fate, suffering, and what actually matters in life.

Jared Mende (our Humanities/Latin/Theology teacher) is teaching it—it’s his all-time favorite book, and he’s a philosophy major, so this will be so good. He’s a fantastic teacher.

This is also a great chance for junior high/high school students and parents to get a taste of what a Telos class is like.

Bring your husband, your teens—whoever wants to join. DM us or .kolesar.92 to RSVP and for the address.
