Trans-Pecos Chapter Texas Master Naturalist
06/22/2026
On June 20th, Trans Pecos Texas Master Naturalists Rafa, Corina, Kitty and Rosie presented at the 2026 Basketball in the Barrio Camp, the camp's 34th year. This is the 3rd year that our chapter has participated in public outreach at this event. As usual, we enjoyed sharing the conservation message with 100 kids and 20+ adults in attendance. And as usual, the kids loved interacting with us and our animal pelts. One of the camp advisors also told us that our presentations make quite an impact on the little campers. So much so that the kids often choose to draw about something discussed during our presentation. True confirmation that our message is definitely getting through to our future leaders. How awesome is that?!

This morning Trans Pecos Texas Master Naturalist Jan, Laura and Bev, also known as the 3 Sisters, conducted an early Pollinator Week themed presentation at the El Paso Museum of Archaeology. After the presentation, they took attendees on a tour of the 3 Sisters garden and the pollinator garden that they helped established. What a fantastic way to glide into the most wonderful time of the year...Pollinator Week! Thanks to everyone who attended the presentation. We hope that you put the information learned into creating your very own pollinator garden. Our tiny warriors need all the help we can give them. 🦇🐝🐛🦋🐞🐜🪰🪲💞
