🚨We need your help to keep LawNPaws rescue dogs safe!🚨

Over the Fourth of July weekend, stray fireworks landed at the LawNPaws Rescue property, catching a tree and part of the fence on fire. Thankfully, the fire was contained before it spread, but it was a scary reminder of how vulnerable the property is.

Just two weeks earlier, our sweet Elsa was bitten by a rattlesnake after one entered the property through an opening in the back fence.

We don’t want to wait for the next emergency.

We’re helping raise funds to install metal panels along the perimeter fence to help protect the dogs from wildlife and reduce future risks. We’re also looking for anyone with equipment who can help clear the mesquite & brush behind the shelter, making the area less attractive to rattlesnakes and improving safety for everyone.

Every donation, service, and share brings us one step closer to creating a safer sanctuary for these dogs.

Over the past year, Hot Rod has been in and out of our shelter a few times. The last time he left, we really thought it was his happy ending. Unfortunately, he’s found himself back in our care once again.

The thing about Hot Rod is that he’s not a bad dog. Not even close.

He’s a giant goofball with an even bigger heart. He loves people, and enjoys making dog friends. Give him a treat and he’ll take it as gently as possible. Give him some pets, and he’ll be your best friend for life.

His biggest “flaw?” He doesn’t always realize he’s the size of a small horse.

Sometimes he gets excited. Sometimes he wants to give hugs. Sometimes he forgets that not everyone wants 100 pounds of love climbing into their lap

But that’s just Hot Rod.

He’s the kind of dog who wants to stop and investigate every interesting smell on a walk. The kind of dog who gets excited about chicken nuggets. The kind of dog who loves being included in whatever his people are doing
