World Chocolate Day is observed annually on July 7, commemorating the introduction of chocolate to Europe in the 16th century, around 1550, after Spanish conquistador Hernán Cortés encountered cacao in Mexico and brought it back to Europe.
The day celebrates chocolate in all its forms, from dark and milk chocolate bars to truffles, desserts, and beverages.
