This weekend, our El Monte Fillies 12U All-Star team traveled to Lancaster to compete in the State Championship Tournament after earning an impressive 3rd-place finish at the District Championships just two weeks ago.

Simply qualifying for State was a tremendous accomplishment, especially considering that the El Monte Fillies had not had a 12U team represent the organization at the District level in recent years. But this remarkable group wasn’t finished making history.

Competing against 30 of the best teams in California, our Fillies went a perfect 6-0 and captured the State Championship title. This is the first time an El Monte Fillies team has won a State Championship since 1999 and only the third team in the organization’s 54-year history to achieve this incredible feat.

Proud is truly an understatement. Congratulations to our players, coaches, families, and everyone who supported this unforgettable championship run. You have made El Monte proud!

At our May 27 City Council meeting, we took action to support housing opportunities and secure state funding for community improvements.

🏘️ Approved an agreement to facilitate the development of a new 202-unit senior and multifamily housing community at 4024 Durfee Avenue.

🌳 Secured more than $461,000 in Clean California grant funding for graffiti abatement, beautification, and neighborhood maintenance projects throughout El Monte.

These investments help strengthen our neighborhoods, improve quality of life, and bring valuable resources back to our community.
